He is a firm believer in fundraising with a thoughtful approach– using data and technology to create a donor-centric approach to raising contributed income.
"I work with non-profits to assist them in reaching their contributed income potential. As a believer in data, privacy, and civility, I created The Thoughtful Approach To... blog to help fundraisersto raise their goals but not lose sight of the individuals behind each and every donation and their own personal well-being. Using data and technology to be thoughtful may seem like an oxymoron, but it should be an integral part of how every development professional does their job."
Aldervan has an MFA specializing in Development and Marketing from Virginia Tech and an undergraduate degree from Rhodes College in Memphis, TN. His undergraduate thesis was on “Uses of Guerilla Warfare,” – a topic that is handy as a fundraiser. He has created several courses for the NYU Heyman Center. He co-presented a session entitled Trauma-Informed Fundraising: the Fundraiser and the Donor at the Association Of Fundraising Professional International Conference in New Orleans.
